1. Scope and Acceptance

This Policy applies when you provide a telephone number through the CARMEPX website, booking form, checkout process, customer-support channel, inspection workflow, account, written agreement, or other interaction and consent to or request communications from CARMEPX.

By providing a telephone number, you represent that the number is accurate, that you are the subscriber or customary user of the number, or that you have authority to provide the number and consent to the communications described. Providing another person’s telephone number without permission is prohibited.

Consent under this Policy is limited to CARMEPX. CARMEPX does not grant unrelated businesses permission to market to you merely because you consented to CARMEPX communications.

2. Communication Categories

CategoryExamplesConsent and Opt-Out Treatment
Service and transactional communicationsBooking confirmation; seller or dealership coordination; inspector assignment; arrival notices; schedule changes; access problems; payment or refund status; report delivery; support; security; and responses you requested.Sent in connection with a requested or active CARMEPX service. You may revoke consent to automated calls or texts. CARMEPX may then use email, a live call, the website, or another lawful channel to complete or administer the service.
Optional marketing communicationsDiscounts, promotions, new services, reminders to book a future inspection, surveys with promotional content, referral offers, and similar advertising.Require separate consent when required by law. Marketing consent is optional and is not a condition of purchasing a CARMEPX service.
One-to-one manual communicationsA live representative or inspector responds personally to your question or contacts you about a specific appointment.Used only for legitimate service, support, or consented marketing purposes and subject to applicable law and your expressed preferences.
Emergency or legally required communicationsSafety-related notices, suspected fraud, account-security issues, or communications required by law.May be sent when permitted by law. CARMEPX will limit these messages to the applicable purpose.

3. Service and Transactional Communications

When you request, schedule, purchase, or receive a CARMEPX inspection or related service, CARMEPX may contact you about that transaction. Service communications may include:

  • Confirming the booking, payment, appointment, or requested inspection window.
  • Contacting a seller, dealership, vehicle owner, or access person using information you supplied.
  • Providing an inspector assignment, estimated arrival, delay, rescheduling, cancellation, or access update.
  • Requesting missing information reasonably necessary to identify, locate, access, or inspect the vehicle.
  • Providing status updates, report-delivery notices, quality-control questions, refund information, and customer-support responses.
  • Sending account, consent, fraud-prevention, security, or legal notices related to your CARMEPX interaction.

Service messages are not a warranty or guarantee that an appointment, inspection, report, refund, or response will occur at a precise time. Delivery may depend on the mobile carrier, device, internet connection, service provider, seller cooperation, and circumstances outside CARMEPX’s control.

You may purchase CARMEPX services without consenting to optional marketing calls or texts. If you do not consent to service texts or later opt out, certain text-based features may be unavailable, and you are responsible for monitoring the email address, website, telephone voicemail, or other contact channel associated with the booking.

4. Optional Marketing Communications

CARMEPX will use a separate, optional consent mechanism before sending recurring marketing calls or texts when prior express written consent is required. Marketing consent is not a condition of purchasing an inspection or any other property, goods, or services.

When you separately consent, you authorize CARMEPX to send marketing or promotional calls and texts to the telephone number you provide, including through automated technology and, where stated in the consent disclosure, artificial or prerecorded voice. Message frequency varies.

Your marketing consent applies only to CARMEPX unless the consent disclosure clearly identifies another specific sender. CARMEPX will not treat a general inquiry, a purchase, a service-text authorization, or acceptance of general website terms as automatic consent to recurring marketing texts.

5. How Consent Is Provided

Depending on the communication, consent may be provided by entering a telephone number and selecting an unchecked consent box, signing electronically or physically, replying affirmatively to a clear request, requesting a call or text, or using another method permitted by law.

Electronic records may include the exact consent language presented, telephone number, date and time, webpage or form, policy version, transaction or booking identifier, IP address or comparable technical record, and the affirmative action used to provide consent.

You may decline optional marketing consent. A preselected box, silence, failure to opt out, or acceptance of unrelated terms will not be treated as affirmative marketing consent where affirmative written consent is required.

6. Automated Technology and Artificial or Prerecorded Voice

CARMEPX may use communications software, automated workflows, short codes, toll-free numbers, local numbers, messaging platforms, or service providers to send authorized communications. A message may be automatically triggered by a booking, appointment status, payment event, report completion, support request, or marketing campaign.

Where a consent disclosure states that artificial or prerecorded voice may be used, your consent covers those technologies only for the purposes and telephone number described in that disclosure. CARMEPX does not interpret this Policy by itself as consent for every legally regulated technology or purpose; the specific consent language shown at the point of collection controls.

7. Message Frequency, Carrier Charges, and Delivery

Message frequency varies based on the service requested, inspection activity, support needs, account events, and any marketing program you choose to join. An active inspection may generate multiple time-sensitive service messages.

Message and data rates may apply. CARMEPX does not charge a separate fee merely to receive a standard text, but your mobile carrier or service plan may impose charges. Contact your carrier for plan details.

Mobile carriers are not responsible for delayed or undelivered messages. CARMEPX does not guarantee delivery, timing, availability, compatibility, or uninterrupted operation of any call or messaging system. Messages may be delayed, filtered, blocked, misdirected, or delivered after their usefulness has passed.

8. How to Stop or Revoke Consent

You may revoke consent to receive automated calls or texts from CARMEPX at any time by using a reasonable method that clearly communicates your request. Methods include:

  • Replying STOP, QUIT, END, REVOKE, OPT OUT, CANCEL, or UNSUBSCRIBE to a CARMEPX text message.
  • Telling a CARMEPX representative during a telephone call that you do not want further calls or texts.
  • Leaving a clear voicemail or sending a clear written request through a CARMEPX contact channel.
  • Emailing privacy@carmepx.com and identifying the telephone number and communication category involved.

CARMEPX will process a valid revocation request within a reasonable time and no later than the period required by applicable law. CARMEPX intends to suppress marketing texts promptly. A single non-promotional confirmation text may be sent to confirm the opt-out or clarify the requested scope when permitted by law.

A STOP or equivalent request will end automated texts that require your consent. If an active inspection or transaction remains unresolved, CARMEPX may continue necessary communications through email, the website, postal mail, or a lawful non-automated channel. Opting out of marketing does not cancel an inspection, terminate a payment obligation, or withdraw your acceptance of other CARMEPX agreements.

After opting out, you may opt in again only through a new affirmative request or consent process. CARMEPX may retain a suppression record so that your preference can be honored.

9. HELP and Customer Support

Reply HELP to a CARMEPX text for available assistance information. You may also use the contact information published on www.carmepx.com or email privacy@carmepx.com for consent, privacy, or opt-out questions.

Do not send full payment-card numbers, passwords, Social Security numbers, government identification numbers, medical information, or other unnecessary sensitive information by text. CARMEPX may direct you to a more secure channel.

10. Telephone Number Ownership and Reassignment

You must notify CARMEPX if you stop using, surrender, transfer, or no longer control a telephone number previously provided to CARMEPX. You may do so by opting out before relinquishing the number or by emailing privacy@carmepx.com.

If CARMEPX reasonably learns that a number has been reassigned, disconnected, or provided without authority, CARMEPX may suspend calls or texts to that number and update its records. The new subscriber or customary user may opt out using any reasonable method.

11. Calls, Voicemail, and Call Recording

CARMEPX may place live calls, leave voicemail, or use authorized automated or prerecorded communications for the purposes described in the applicable consent notice. Caller identification may display CARMEPX, a service provider, a local number, a toll-free number, or another number used for CARMEPX communications.

Calls may be monitored or recorded for quality assurance, training, safety, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, and legal compliance only with the notice and consent required by applicable law. If recording is used, CARMEPX or its service provider should provide an appropriate notice before recording begins.

12. Service Providers and Mobile Carriers

CARMEPX may use communications, hosting, booking, customer-support, analytics, payment, and inspection-workflow providers to send or manage authorized calls and texts on CARMEPX’s behalf. These providers may process telephone numbers, message content, delivery status, timestamps, consent status, opt-out records, device or carrier information, and related technical data as needed to provide the service.

CARMEPX remains responsible for directing its providers to use communication data for authorized CARMEPX purposes. Mobile carriers, device manufacturers, operating systems, and messaging applications operate under their own terms and privacy practices.

13. Privacy, Consent Records, and Retention

CARMEPX may collect and retain telephone numbers, message content, call records, voicemail, delivery receipts, consent records, opt-out records, support requests, device or carrier information, booking identifiers, and related metadata. CARMEPX uses this information to provide services, document consent, honor preferences, secure communications, prevent fraud, resolve disputes, and comply with law.

Consent and suppression records may be retained after other customer information is deleted when reasonably necessary to demonstrate compliance and prevent unwanted communications. Additional information about collection, disclosure, retention, security, and privacy rights appears in the CARMEPX Privacy Policy.

14. Security and Fraud Prevention

CARMEPX will not request a full payment-card number, card security code, online banking password, or Social Security number through an ordinary text message. Be cautious of unexpected messages, urgent payment demands, shortened links, requests for authentication codes, or messages asking you to move a conversation to an unrelated account.

If you suspect that a message falsely claims to be from CARMEPX, do not provide information or make payment through that message. Contact CARMEPX through the website address you independently enter in your browser.

15. Age and Authority

CARMEPX services and communications are intended for adults. You must be at least eighteen years old and legally capable of providing the applicable consent, or act through an authorized adult or lawful representative. CARMEPX does not knowingly seek marketing-text consent from children under thirteen.

16. Changes to This Policy

CARMEPX may update this Policy to reflect changes in law, technology, service providers, communication practices, or business operations. The Last Updated date and document version identify the current version. A material change will not create new marketing consent retroactively; CARMEPX will obtain new consent when required by law.
